About the Qualification

Students will learn to write shorthand at a minimum of 80 words per minute (wpm) and key in text at 35 wpm.
Graduates will be able to:
• write shorthand at a minimum of 80 wpm;
• read their shorthand back accurately;
• transcribe their shorthand notes;
• key in text at 35wpm; and
• use electronic recording equipment to gather sound bites and news clips.
