Semester one courses with a start date of 22nd February 2010, end 16th April 2010:

CWRT.4001 - Creative Writing Skills: Perfect for the talented beginner or the writer who wants to take a refresher course in foundation writing skills.

CWRT.4002 Contemporary Māori Writing & Writers: Discover and discuss some of our finest Māori writers, and look at some of the key skills needed to emulate them.

CWRT.4003 Contemporary Ethnic Writers and Writing: Indian Writers in English From Salman Rushdie to Aravind Adiga, India is producing some of the world’s foremost writers.

CWRT.5005 Writing the Screenplay: Scripts are needed for screens large and small - cinema, television, and computers. Learn vital techniques and make the most of your creativity.

Manuscript Mentoring: Students work one-on-one with a tutor to complete a manuscript in one academic year. Conditions apply

 

Semester one courses with a start date of 3rd May 2010, end 25th June 2010:

CWRT.5007 Focus on Fiction: Fiction is fantastic. Learn how to maximise the stories you want to tell with experienced and enthusiastic tutors.

CWRT.4004 Skills for Written & Spoken English: Gain confidence in basic writing skills to empower all your writing.

CWRT.5004 Travel Writing: Learn the fundamentals of writing up your travels, from planning through to story submission.

CWRT.4005 Skills in Business Writing: Writing effective and appropriate reports, memos, and other forms of business correspondence can only enhance your business.

CWRT.4006 Writing for Children: From tots to teens, picture books to chapter stories, writing for children is fun and exhilarating.

Semester two courses with a start date of 19th July 2010, end 10th September 2010:

CWRT.5003 Penning the Past, Poetry & Personal Writing: If you want to write memoir or family history, perhaps add your thoughts in poetry, this is the course for you.

CWRT.5002 Technical Text, Handbooks & Leaflets: Maximise your knowledge! There’s a good living to be made as a technical writer.

CWRT.4001 Creative Writing Skills (2): Another opportunity to participate in Waiariki’s popular foundation creative writing course.

CWRT.4004 Skills for Written & Spoken English (2): Gain confidence in basic writing skills.

CWRT.5004 Travel Writing (2): Learn the fundamentals of writing up your travels, from planning through to story submission.

 

Semester two courses with a start date of 27th September 2010, end 19th November 2010:

CWRT.5006 Focus on Nonfiction: If you want to write memoir or family history, perhaps add your thoughts in poetry, this is the course for you.

CWRT.5001 Reading and Writing Poetry: Free verse, haiku, sonnet and pantoum: learn the subtleties and pleasure of writing poetry.

CWRT.5005 Writing the Screenplay (2): Scripts are needed for screens large and small - cinema, television, and computers.

CWRT.5007 Focus on Fiction (2): Fiction is fantastic. Learn how to maximise the stories you want to tell.
